ATMAX Equipment Co. was started in 2001 by Tim Ward in order to build a truly All Terrain forklift. In 1999, Tim purchased two Moffett® truck mounted forklifts for his familys sod farm in central Florida. He quickly realized that these three wheeled machines would not easily handle the sugar sand found on most Florida construction sites. About this time, Posi-Track®, Takeuchi® and Bobcat® compact track loaders were becoming more popular, and Tim determined that a rubber tracked forklift would be much more advantageous in the sandy soils of Florida as well as in hilly and mountainous regions. So after six years of extensive research and development, and at least a half dozen prototypes, ATMAX Equipment began producing the worlds first truck mounted, rubber tracked forklift in January of 2007. Now there is a rough terrain forklift on the market that has unmatched performance, making tough construction deliveries easy!! About the same time Tim began developing the traxmax® All terrain forklift, he began the research and development of the traxmax® Big Roll Sod Installer. Tims goal was to build the fastest, toughest machine on the market. Tim knew that big rolled sod was the fastest most efficient way to install sod and turf. Yet in his home state of Florida, hundreds of truckloads of sod were still being installed everyday with pallets; whereas with big rolls and the traxmax® big roll sod installer, the amount of labor required to do the job could be reduced by at least half …
