Does anyone know about planetary drive gears on a track loader?
I have an ASV skid steer loader with tracks on it. The tracks are driven by a Planetary Gear assembly. Does the fluid just help to keep it cool and lubricated or does it play a role in the engagement of the gears as well? The track on this machine will grab and go every once in a while and sometimes it will not move. The drive motor seems to be working fine. I am havong intermittent power through this planetary drive assembly. Can anyone help?

most planetary gears are hydraulic driven check fluid levels and filters.there is a possibility a keyway on shaft has sheared and only hold under lite pressure.
